* the third one will be this month. I'm so thrilled. Been carrying a massive debt on one for like a year and half and used the other two for random stuff such as snow tires.
I'm so freaking thrilled. All of this in less than two months on a meager salary while commuting to school, work, and making my bill payments. That's huge.
Have a cool pic I found.

Well done, that's a decision you'll never regret. Now do yourself a favor and put them all away somewhere and forget the numbers. Live off of cash/debit and you'll be much happier. Don't ditch them entirely (they're great for paying recurring bills and other predictable costs), but don't keep it in your wallet.

Come tax refund time, I'll have mine paid off, racked that up around 2007 when wife & I started dating. Stuff like skydiving, out of town expenses. Can't wait to start saving money monthly.

Ive removed both of my credit cards and placed them in a safe place. The third doesnt belong to me but to my dad since it was a Discount Tire card and there was a 0% for 6 months special if you use it to buy tires. So i only have cash amd my debit card thats it. Sound advice, now about that stupid student loans...

Bravo sir! I'm hoping to crush mine by the end of this year. Wife and I had a bad ass wedding last year, and paid for it ourselves.
Those things are not cheap...

Smart man. Over time, you'll work it back in, but after you get out of the habit of defaulting to your credit card, it's much easier to keep it around without pulling it out.

nice work! this really is a worthy goal that is under celebrated. I just have 2 years of car payments...and 2 mortgages to go!

I disagree with this, to an extent, just don't carry debt on the card. My bank tries to charge me if I make more than a few charges on my debit account so I just use the credit card for everything and pay it off when it's due. Saves me the debit costs and earns me rewards on the credit card. Profit, profit.

You're right too and that's the best case scenario for sure. That's how we are now. But it took paying off nearly 15k in credit debt and then putting the cards away for a year before we could settle in to that happy medium. It's very easy to get into a vicious cycle where you spend it up, freak out, slowly pay it off, relax, then spend it up again. In order to get to the point you describe, you sort of have to regain your own trust again.
